Yes, they can, private classes for them are recommended if their swimming skills are of different stages.
  • What happens if the class can’t be conducted due to the weather?
Please inform the coach at least 1 hour in advance if the weather does not look good, the lesson will then be cancelled. • Can I sit in for my children’s class?
    Yes, you definitely can!
  • What if my child cries during the swimming lesson?
If your child cries, it does not reflect that your child isn’t ready for a swimming lesson. Your child may be facing separation anxiety or getting accustomed to the new people and surroundings. Give your child some time and let your child develop confidence. We are confident that your child will be able to enjoy this wonderful experience in a relaxed environment with us.
  • How long will it take for my child or myself to learn how to swim?
The process of learning how to swim varies for individuals. Everyone is unique but it usually takes an average of 3-4 months to gain basic swimming skills. For individuals who need extra time to be comfortable in water, the process may take longer. Enjoy the learning process with us and you will definitely master swimming and enjoy it.
  • Why is the class duration shorter for infants or young toddler classes?
Research shows that young children have shorter concentration spans. Therefore they will get tired quickly and tend to reject any other information if the lesson continues longer. Keeping the duration shorter will allow the lesson to be more productive and keep their interest in swimming.
  • Do you teach the Swimsafer syllabus in your lessons?
We do not focus on the SwimSafer 2.0 requirements in our lessons but teach them to swim. We will prepare students for Swimsafer 2.0 (Bronze and above) when they are proficient in swimming a longer distance.
  • Can you guarantee result?
It varies for every child, but yes your child will eventually become a confident swimmer.
  • How can I ensure my child is safe from secondary drowning?
It is unlikely to happen during lessons as we teach the children to hold their breath before going underwater. If he/she ingests water, it goes to the stomach and the child will urinate it out afterwards. Secondary drowning happens when the child goes unconscious and the water fills up his/her lung.
  • Why isn't my child progressing or rather regressing?
This stage is quite normal. When the child becomes individualistic, they don’t wish to be submerged forcefully. We observed that it will usually last for a few weeks to a few months. We have to be patient at this stage. Try to target small improvements and not a huge change in progression. They can surprise you by suddenly zooming past their peers in terms of progress when they are ready. You may want to consider doing private lessons for 1 to 2 months so that we can customise the lessons to suit the child better.
  • Are goggles compulsory?
To be as prepared for real-life situations, especially emergencies, we will not encourage goggles if your child is comfortable with opening his/her eyes in the water. But if the child is uncomfortable and refuses to open his/her eyes in water, we encourage the use of goggles to explore and be comfortable in the earlier stage.
  • My child has asthma, can he/she learn swimming?"
Yes, they can definitely learn how to swim. In fact, the breathing of warm, moist air (instead of cold, dry air) may actually help reduce the risk of asthmatic attacks. However, it is always better to get your doctor’s opinion on this.
