SwimSafer 2.0
SwimSafer was an initiative by the National Water Safety Council in collaboration with Sports SG in 2010. The programme was reviewed in 2016-2017 and refreshed version of SwimSafer was developed. SwimSafer 2.0 teachers people of all ages and varying abilities to swim and be safe in, or and around water. This programme emphasises skill development in conjunction with water safety and personal water survival education.
SwimSafer Stage 2:
Fundamental
Water Skills
Swimming is the most efficient and effective form of cardio exercise as it engages your entire body and increases your metabolism rate. It is often recommended as a physiotherapy exercise as it takes the pressure off your joints when moving.
SwimSafer Stage 3:
Personal Water Survival and Stroke Developmental Skills
Swimming enables individuals to improve essential skills such as balance, posture, coordination and concentration. It also greatly helps in the early development of fine and gross motor skills. This could greatly benefit individuals in concentrating on other tasks such as staying focused in class.
SwimSafer Stage 1:
